Main Article Content
Abstract
As Hancock (1984) ably demonstrates there is some disagreement about a precise definition of Parlaree, and greater difficulty in establishing its sources and sociolinguistic history. If we accept, for the moment the most general view of Parlaree, and agree to define Parlareemore accurately later, it is clear that the most important element is derived from Romance, especially Italian.
